I saw your shadow

I saw your shadow.
Saw it in the hallway,
where I walk at night.
I know you were following me.

I felt you behind me,
and I felt you beside me.
You hummed a tune in my ear,
it was our favorite song.

I smelled your skin on mine,
when I bathed last night.
It was as though you'd been with me,
the whole day long.

I felt your hand in mine,
when I stood alone in the quiet.
I so miss your touch,
and the way you used to calm me.

I know I felt your lips on mine,
just before I fell asleep.
Your arms, warm around me,
and your head on my chest.

I want you to come to me again,
so that we're not so far apart.
I don't know if I can wait for my turn,
until we can be together forever.
