I love you in your sleep

by Mr Rhee   Aug 14, 2009

I kissed you the other night.
You were asleep, and peaceful.
I kissed you gently,
so you wouldn't wake.

Your lips are so full, so soft.
The skin of your cheeks, so smooth,
and your eyes, even closed, beautiful.

My lips touched yours, for just a moment,
and you moved, gently, against me.
It was a warm kiss, and sweet.
I almost kissed you again.

Some of your long hair covered your face,
like a veil, on the face of a bride.
I think you felt my stare.

I will kiss you again tonight.
At least...I know I'll try.
I love you in your sleep,
just as much as I love you by day.

Needs a bit of editing at the beginning and on the last line
    1st stanza L2 were & L3 Kissed
last stanza L4 you missed an I (just as much as I love you)

Yet another lovely easy metered poem that gets your message across with its simply beautiful flow, Ray S 5/5
