Starting Today

by Grunge Angel   Aug 15, 2009

Dear sweet enigma,
Am I? Or who I am? You?
Do you see me?
Or have I fallen so hard,
that the depths of this darkness have
shadowed away from my truth?

Won't you save me?
Or will you just cast me away?
Thoughts of nothing,
Hide all the things you portray
I'll go back to an existence
of worshiping lies.

But you know it's your lies,
If you saw what my eyes have
seen, you'd be wondering: "How
have I lived being blind?"

Get up off your knees,
Suppression is greed,
Find your own way just by
Starting today.

We wage; We rage bloody wars
In the name of our God.
Is this what they would want?
Because it's what we got,
for being ignorant and choosing
this grief over peace.

Abandoned the past
of the burnings, and hanging
the innocent for choosing to
stand for what's right!
Can't we just form a world,
where everyone, boy and girl,
can celebrate the truth in
the Earth, Moon, and Sun.

Get up of your knees,
Suppression is greed,
Find your own way just by
Starting Today.
