Coach Ride

by Keekz   Aug 18, 2009

The bus was full of young teen girls
Sitting with there friends
Giggling stuff to one another
It was such a happy atmosphere

She was trying to be part of conversations
While day light was still apparent
There was so much talking
She just wanted to be apart

But backs were turned
And no one sat next to her
She was meant to be alone
And she new it wasnt going to be any different

She would have listened to her ipod
But someone had asked to borrow it
She didnt have the courage to say no
So she handed it over with a smile

She tried to immerge herself in her manga
People noticed what she was reading
And she explained what it was
All she got in return was disgraceful looks

Then it made her feel sick
She had to stop reading
She couldnt do anything else
So she stared out the window

The sun was disappearing
Her imagination was running on edge
Would anyone notice?
If she didnt get on the bus at the next stop

If she went into the bathroom
At the back of the coach
And slit her wrists
Or suffocate herself

Dreaming of a knight in shining armour
Someone that would notice her
Giving her someone to talk to
Give her a reason to want to smile

Her ipod is passed back to her
With a quick thanks
And a you dont have anymore good songs
She was so close to tears

Pulling her rug up over her head
Pillowing her head against the window
Leaving a small gap to breathe the cool air
And view the night sky

Wishing she was still at home
Even though it wasnt much better there
But at least she could be comfortable
And not have to force a smile and be so fake

She has the same song
Playing over and over again

«Counting stars wishing I was okay
Under the covers I'm okay I guess
Life's too short and i feel small«

Finally she drifted to sleep
