The Sun Set, and She Awoke

Whilst the sun set, it dawned on her
As we lay, two humans, side by side
I let the words and thoughts wash over, and intermingle
Like the heat between adjacent thighs

A chill breeze gripped the moment
Autumnal rays, flickered through leaves on high
Her face, forever wrapped in time
The gleam of hope, now ebbed and blown aside

Twelve months it took to create this
One day, is all, to break
Sketches display that, once painted strong
Such prints, supine testimony, to our art

A heat, so strong, to begin and end
Salted water, to glue farewell hands
Words cannot convey, the times shared
As two bodies, pressed close, impart
