A Friend's Farewell

by Beautiful Chaos   Aug 27, 2009

The words she spoke
were of crystal blue sadness
Droplets of ocean
falling from her trembling lips

The horror in her eyes
screamed at me
Begging me
to take this tragedy as my own

As her fear grew
I could see the rage
Flowing from her tongue
like crimson swords

Sharp and bloody
meant to hurt
But all they exhumed
was pity

Deep guilt
I knew would follow me
Until I found something
just as cruel to replace it
