When The Wind Howled, Your Laughter Rang Clear

by Indian Comma Bean   Sep 8, 2009

Tiny drops of wisdom burn like acid rain
While quivering eyes seethe with regret.
Whispered lullabies bring casual pain
Lying motionless, wishing to forget -
For this burden here is heavy.

I know this secret that is burning,
Burning deep within my heart,
Knowing that the tides are turning,
I've been lost before my lips could start -
For the end is all I can trust.

The story is so simple in the end,
For I know the curtains fall upon my head,
But within that mind of yours, my friend,
It's hard to read that far ahead -
For I always skip the pages.

I hope to find the courage to dance up with the stars,
So I could be the glimmer, deep within your eyes,
But today I stare, at that empty frame of ours,
And lament upon my sorrows, my sweet demise -
For this love is lost in time.
