Cerebral Decay

by Indian Comma Bean   Feb 11, 2012

What are memories but passing
reminders on shattered glass,
distant thoughts traversing
planes of reality, stumbling
on shards of doubt and
broken hopes.

They lay still in stagnant
pools, distilling anguish
with misery alike;
nothing pardons breath
from emptied veins
slowly releasing
the mind.

Echoes of a past life
reverberate through bones
long withered and eroded,
such is the precipice
upon a desolate domain
abandoned some time ago,
where dreams collapse
under the pane of
time.

I enjoy the title! The Phrasing in the poem was good as well. The concept of memories as well also was a very nice touch, and a great way to bring people in. Good job!
