I ARE a Slave

by Sagar Patil   Sep 8, 2009

Thoughts quarantined...
mind disillusioned...
liberty garrisoned...
rights imprisoned...

in hell I live
efforts I give, and give ....
freedom stolen...
by devils with pride swollen...

ethos captured..
aspirations ruptured..
wishes caged..
They, and I aged...

Born a slave,
so shall I be, in a grave
Oh I forgot...
a grave, I possess not...

destined to perish
death I cherish...
amidst grief mist, the sorrow fog
gratify the hungry roadside dog...

I shall inevitably wither
Muse.... why was I born hither..?
sold on birth ...
for the rich mans mirth...

my life was of joy bereft,
in my heart, I silently wept
ignored was my every tear
even touching me, was folks dreaded fear

was this fair and due...?
think you must.....Now... I say Adieu...
for I am in a hurry to die..
at last in peace, I wish to lie...
