Conformity

by KomBAT Kitten   Sep 10, 2009

I have forgotten the reason I'm here
So all that I have now is hope and fear

They all call me Stephanie but what is a name?
We're fake and elected, we all are the same

We strive for uniqueness through beauty and calling
Beware of conformists, theres somebody following

The taste of perfection so far from our grasp
We'll run staight at it, miss it then gasp

Perfection was never perfection, but flaw
We're all supposed to want it, not get it, then fall

The dream never ends but theres nothing to gain
We're all in a circle doing the same

~1st off, great poem. i like it alot.
though some lines feel forced to fit in with the one before it and some dont seem relevant to the poem, i think its truth, structure and wording are great, and although i dislike parts of this poem, i really really like it. lines: 3,4,5,9 and 12 are my fave's - they make the poem strong, and alive, and believable.

    good job
