Carrying the Wind

by Timothy   Sep 12, 2009

1st Verse:
Carrying the wind with me, of a more elegant time,
I smell your scent, yet, it's hard to focus my mind;
Memories flutter, in some distant dream,
I know there was a happier time, a time before my blaspheme.

I knew a man, who once thought of others,
But he grew and changed, and now he's just an actor;
"If wishes were fishes", as they say,
I could wish some goodness back into this life that's gone astray.

Chorus:
How can I get back to you, when you are far over the hill?
How can I break the barrier I made without goodwill?
I love you, but how do I climb over that gigantic mound?
I am carrying the wind, but it no longer makes a sound.
Carrying the wind,
Carrying the wind,
I am carrying the wind, but I am beginning to lose my grasp,
Carrying the wind, and my body's sure to collapse.

2nd Verse:
I would run to you, if I thought I could make amends,
Start some new beginnings, forget all that ends;
Because nothing pretty can be had, at the end of a spark,
Nothing is special about all these scars and marks.

I knew a man, who looked at a lifetime of regrets,
He stared at too many catastrophes, and not enough sunsets;
He loved a woman, and she had always been true,
But he made too many mistakes, and doesn't deserve you!

Repeat Chorus:
How can I get back to you, when you are far over the hill?
How can I break the barrier I made without goodwill?
I love you, but how do I climb over that gigantic mound?
I am carrying the wind, but it no longer makes a sound.
Carrying the wind,
Carrying the wind,
I am carrying the wind, but I am beginning to lose my grasp,
Carrying the wind, and my body's sure to collapse.
