Ocean

Ocean,
Fury rages within your dark, vast waters
We cannot tear our eyes away.
Tempting our senses, drawing us in
We witness your display of hell.

Listen!
To the rabid waves crashing to shore
To the resonant thunder, loud and deafening
To the panicked cries of sailors, out in your waters,
Reaching for the lifeline you hold from their reach

Look!
The sun disappears behind angry clouds
The lightning strikes, blinding the eyes with undiminished intensity
The waves rush against the sand, spraying its waters upon the bank
The ship is small in the distance, lurching precariously to your tune,
Before vanishing in the darkened night

Feel!
The rain drenching your skin, your clothes clinging to your body
The wet sand clutches the bottom of your feet, its only haven from the violence
The spray of the waves whipping against your skin,
As your heart breaks from the sight before you

Ocean,
Your vengeance has been merciless; it has been wreaked.
Slowly, your waters calm, becoming the face of serenity,
Within minutes, the bright, happy sun smiles once more
Leaving only the memory of destruction in its wake

    ^^ the fury of oceans so well described... I love watching the ocean when it rains :)

    Feel!
