The Wolf

by Shauna   Sep 20, 2009

He knew he wouldn't live much longer
And his position needed to go to someone stronger.
The pack was aware that he was nearing his time,
He had long since passed his prime.
There was not much more he could do
They had already chosen someone new.
He didn't want to seem weak,
Even though all his expressions were bleak.
When it finally came to that sad night,
He left with eyes bright.
He managed to give them a final gift
Even after his spirit started to drift.
They looked all around
And found a large bison lying on the ground.
The pack gave sad howls,
And approached the bison with growls.
