A Bid Farewell

by ABrookeD   Oct 1, 2009

Skin like clay,
Eyes sealed tight.
Cold as ice.
Dead as night.

Stiff hands remain,
A cross set in between.
Motionless you lay,
A sight I've never seen.

Breathless, tears are streaming,
As i bid my last farewell.
If there really is a heaven,
Only time will tell.

You're slowly disappearing.
First your body, now your face.
I hear you laugh, i hear you whistle,
And know you're in a better place.
