The Lingering Memory Of Stacy

by John   Oct 15, 2009

I see her creeping in the darkness from what I've done,
Her breathing shallow and cold like a whisper.

She wakes early before the rising of the sun,
She avoids my movements and won't let me kiss her.

I go to sleep before her as she watches me walk away,
The lingering memory in her head has its place to stay.

Her tears begin to fall as the memory replays in her mind,
She wonders why she still stays and acts so kind.

He's going to pay for the tears in her eyes
She thinks the unthinkable as she suddenly replays the lies.

She moves quietly through the house while he's sleeping,
He's going to pay, going to regret her moment of weeping.

Her movements go closer towards his resting, sleeping body
The sound of a click and a boom escapes the house.

She moves ever closer to his cheek,
Face-to-face just how two fighters would be.

His last words echo as they say ,"Why Stacy...?"
