Someone Just Like You

by kyle bruderer   Oct 22, 2009

I don't quite have
The capacity to express
My gratitude for your love
And for your tenderness
You say I came to your doorstep
At just the right time
But the part you left out
Is that you were also standing at mine
There is a certain peace about you
Like mist on the ocean air
And how incredibly blessed I am
To have found this friendship so rare

You've come to know
Just who I really am
And few can impact my life
In the way that you can
You managed to save me
In many different ways
I feel like someone of worth
When I read that simple phrase
You've helped me to realize
Things that I hadn't before
And you've given me the hope
To become something more

I've taken a new step
You were the influence
Because you truly cared
You really made a difference
Every week feels like an hour
And every day feels like a minute
But not one seems to pass by
Without a memory of you in it
You make me want to be
Someone different, someone new
Someone close to perfection
Someone just like you.
