A Skydive Called Love

I never knew that I could fall so quickly for one person.
And in my case,
It was like jumping out of a plane without knowing if I had a parachute or not.
Exhilarating,
Yet so frightening.
But why you chose to save me from free-falling is still a mystery.
My eyes lack the luster they once had,
And reasons unknown to anyone but I,
Of how I can never be good enough,
Are embedded into my mind.
So many before you,
Chose to let me fall and meet my death.
It's just hard to believe that someone like you could love someone like me.
With so many uncovered issues.
To be blunt,
I'm scared to death.
I don't want to fall anymore.
But my heart always prevails over my mind.
With some time,
Maybe you'll come to make me see,
That now there's no reason for me to think I have to hold my heart together with duct tape and safety pins,
Because it won't be broken anymore.
Thank you for being my parachute on this skydive called love.
