Escape

by David Marshall   Oct 30, 2009

Around the corner, side by side,
5th and fully wicked, nothing to hide,
the jets are in your hand, time to let them go,
do you have to balls, its time to show,
vastly approaching, seems like a wall,
no pulling back now, no time to stall,

Forty feet above and starting to descend,
adrenaline pumping as its coming to an end,
closer and closer you come to the ground,
everything is silent, can't hear a sound,
nobody to worry about, no hope, nor cares,
thats the feeling of being in the air.

Its the final bend, but no baton to pass,
its all up to you, gotta stay on the gas,
no time to be nice, you gotta get mean,
scrub the table hard, scrub the table clean,
the checkers up, to everyone your great,
but to you its not a race, its just your escape.
