Molten

In a jungle
not far from the sea
lived a leonine queen
and out in the ocean
far to the east
lived her piscean king

she called to her arien general
to capture the sharks in the sea
they were feeding lies
to the piscean eyes
of her mercurial king

an illusion
a puff of silvery smoke
up in the sky
neptune will cry
for the fate of the leonine queen

the sun has
eclipsed
dark floods the rich jungle
to the queen, said the king
my heart is a jumble
of trickery
and piscean lies

nothing without me!
cried the queen, cried the queen
your being insane!
can't you see, can't you see?!
but he just closed his eyes
and away swam the
piscean king

he'll be back
said her general
who had the same problem
she too had fallen in love
with a piscean theif

she called for her
scorpion oracle
he has no secrets from me
he's drinking the last of his sea
majesty,
and his eyes filled with tears
he wants to swim back
but just leave it at that!
he said to his leonine queen

and he was right
back swam the piscean king
he left his queen
bitter and cold
crazy with hatred
but she denied what was told
and welcomed her
piscean king

said the oracle
redundant, my queen
rid yourself now of
that parasite king
breaking cycles
from death to new life
is one way to drain the sea
and get rid of that
piscean king

after much thought
and many a tiff
and heartbreak, time twentythree
the Queen set up her bait
and from the lake
she caught up that
piscean king

she had him for dinner
as a matter of fact
with the scorpion oracle,
and the arien general
did that crafty
leonine queen
