You Won't Win (I Refuse to Lose)

by Sarah   Dec 10, 2009

So we used to be friends
Hung out all the day
But apparently I've done wrong
So now i must pay?

Your sad little attempts
Of putting me down
Are quickly falling out
And starting to drown

I have too many friends
That will love me forever
To get them to leave me
You'll have to be more clever

Convincing everyone
That talking to me is bad
Isn't bothering me
Cause your attempt is quite sad

Speaking in hushed tones
With your arm around their shoulder
Isn't obvious at all
Your attempt will soon smolder

You're losing this fight
I'm too strong not to win
I don't want to go back
To way back when

I used to cry at night
About losing my friend
But why would I want someone
That made me cry in the end?

I'm good with where we are
We won't talk, it's forbidden
I would be even better
Knowing what I did then
