You're the wind and I'm the tree

by Graves Mortuary   Dec 15, 2009

These years are short
And the days are gone
This time without you
Has been too long
But if I were to never
See you again
Memories of the days are strong
That time with you
Was never wasted
Whether it was right or wrong
You make me weak at the knees
But yet I stand tall
You're the wind
And I'm the tree
Sooner or later
I'm going to fall
You blow in this direction or that
I never know what to expect
So I avoid you all together
To be safe from your stormy weather
I love you
But could never be with you
It's a contradicting game
No one wins
No one can lose
Everyone thinks this life
Is something we didn't choose
These years with you have been short
But I have known you all along
Before we dwelt upon the earth
We were in heaven singing our song
Life is unfair
God is forgiving
We are apart
But at least we're still living
The saddest truth
Is that you are still you
And I am still me
Always love for each other
That may never be...
