Burning Bridges

by Krayz Lyfe   Dec 15, 2009

Your constant display of negativity and cruelty has brought me down for the last time.
No longer will my pen weep this melancholy rhyme.
I told you of this abuse that you have had my heart endure,
Yet all you do is mock and tease,
As I try to ignore and pursue some small act of happiness to be my form of cure.

Once happiness I have found,
You do everything in your power to bring me back down.
Your words act like whips that constantly shred merciless.
You shove me into the darkness drowning me in dispair until it envelopes me as if you don't care.
So if I choose to leave and never return,
Remember it was your words that caused this bridge to burn.

I like the poem but in the line that begins "But yet" you could take one of those words out and still have it make sense and also bring the rhythm closer to syncing.
