My Neice (A Woman)

by Donna   Dec 18, 2009

You are 18 . Almost a woman
Stuck in a child's mind of so many horrors
Dreams of monsters. . Still they come
Yet nobody knew . But you and then
The monsters are the child's . Now you've grown
The child you no longer are . Put her to rest
Let her go to sleep forever more
Grow and learn . The gentle you abuse free.
Lend your hand . Share your secrets so others know
Now your safe . An adult . A young woman too
With so much to give . Help others too
Share your pain . Now he's old and grey
A disease . A bug . Nothing more
Weak and pathetic . Who prays on innocence
Now your strong . Beautiful inside and out
He no longer controls . That childs mind . She's gone
Now your grown . Like nobody has known
A heart so pure . That beats only love
Kindness and affection too. My niece you are
I'm so proud you found me too
Time will heal you. . You'll learn how beautiful you really are
The real inner you. Who'll help save lots just like you
So you wait and see. These true words I give to thee
And all who share. The child's monsters just like you
Now that adult from within.. Has grown and took over you.
And your monsters too .The real inner you.
