I Remember

by Mimed Lovette   Dec 25, 2009

To you:

I remember the day when we met,
you thought it was a fluke.
But baby, I thank the heavens for that,
for sending you down to my life.
I never knew I could feel this way,
life wouldn't be life without feeling for you.
My doubts sting your eyes red,
my hesitations pierce your chest blue,
all because I am scared of these overwhelming emotions,
definitely not because I don't love you.
Where would the sun rays fall upon?
Where would the star light shine above?
If I never met you, then THAT
would be life's greatest regret unbeknownst to me.

I remember the times when you confided in me,
saying that you could never be so brutally honest.

I remember the times when you shed precious tears,
because I can't be there for you, it kills me inside.

I remember the times when you truly laughed,
that made my heart soar for I knew I once brought you bliss.

I remember the times when you were feeling so down,
my throat locked, my eyes burnt as ache enveloped my entire being.

I remember the times when you said you loved me,
three simple words just lethal enough a concoction of passion to me.

I remember the times when you sang to me,
each word spewed loving sentiments and honest adorations.

I remember the times when you called me your princess,
the only girl you'd want to care for, be with and to love for.

I remember the times when you wrote poems for me,
every simple word combining to form your heart's token.

I remember the times when you called me your own,
as how you were only mine, god no way was I going to share.

I remember the times when we spoke on the phone,
your beautiful voice resonates in my ear, something I would keep on replay.

I remember the times when you broke my heart,
it could never mend, for you always had the larger part of me.

I remember the times when we spitefully fought,
but we'd give in eventually, we were fighting for our love.

I remember the times when I read your letters,
your thoughts stained the walls of my mind, un-erasable.

I remember the times when you sent me songs,
sketching our feelings for one another, but never enough to draw the entire picture.

I remember the times when we looked at each other,
I put on a wide grin when you smiled, you put on a smile because I grinned.

I remember the times when we left each other notes,
however such short sweet sentences could stir up the insides of me, I could never understand.

I remember the times when you hurt me so bad,
but please know that my faith in you has never, and will never falter.

I remember the times when we loved each other with such intensity,
tell me baby, have you left me behind, alone in this dance supposed for two?

I remember the times when we painfully broke,
it felt like the world has left me abandoned, an unwanted soul.

I remember those wonderful times, but do you too?
I remember the love we shared, did you ignore that?
I remember your existence, though am I still there?
I remember everything, have you chosen to forget?

-I know that this isn't written in the form of a poem but I just wanted to express my feelings in raw form. I just happened to reminisce when I came across something earlier on. I never wanted to touch these, rather let them stay dormant but in the midst of writing these, I began to realize how my attraction to you was undeniably, unbearably, painfully true to the very core of my heart.-
