Oh, ha.

by InvisibleHourglass   Dec 27, 2009

I fell in love with perfection
silly me, forgot perfection doesn't exist.
couldn't be real, and it wasn't.
sheds his life
the same way he slips in
and out of love
oops, no,
shedding his life is easy
the love he leaves is not
just a trail of heartbreak I keep
stumbling on.
oh, ha, look at that girl
he tricked her too
she's lovestruck and lost
I know that face
it used to belong to me
and I thought only me
silly girls.
what did he convince you of?
that he was different?
that he cared?
oh god, doesn't he just make it seem like an art?
the way he captures those hearts.
did he write you pretty poems
and hold you close
draw pictures of your face
talk to you until you slept?
yeah, me too.
let's hope that thrashing his way through
the hearts of high school girls
isn't genetic.
