Life's Pain

You said that time would heal my pain
So just hold on til tomorrow
Well I've been holding on forever
And I'm still encased in sorrow.

The wounds from several years ago
Haven't healed at all
Yet life keeps making gashes
How much longer til I fall?

Every time one thing goes right
A thousand more go wrong
So now I hope for failure
At least I won't be lead along

Because I can't be disappointed
If I pray for pain and tears
And nothing can take the hurt away
Life's caused me through the years.
