Numb

by Andrew juinio   Jan 4, 2010

I hope you can see the effects you have caused
emotional instability and mental chaos
why would you do that to me?, im asking so please do answer
because now my life is on the edge of disaster
I have given up everything in my life to be with you
you repay me by cheating and playing me like a fool
my body aches like my heart and my heart is cold like ice
this ice is bound to break and its not going to be nice
numb is what im feeling everything now seems so plain
numb is what i feel every time someone mentions your name
numb is what i will always feel like because of the crap you've done to me
numb is what im always going to feel for eternity

Numb   [nuhm] Show IPA adjective-er, -est, verb
    –adjective
    1.
deprived of physical sensation or the ability to move: fingers numb with cold.
    2.
manifesting or resembling numbness: a numb sensation.
    3.
incapable of action or of feeling emotion; enervated; prostrate: numb with grief.
    4.
lacking or deficient in emotion or feeling; indifferent: She was numb to their pleas for mercy.

Numb usually refers to the absence of feeling. Though I understand where you are going with this poem perhaps a little rewording would do it good. You have some strong emotions in which you are building it and I like that they are being expressed here. Good start.
