Waiting heart

by coverd in darkness   Jan 22, 2010

Met you once didn't think of you again,
Met you a second time my how everything changed then.

Something about you dragged me in,
Suddenly didn't find myself at ease.

Who would of thought that night,
Would end up the best of my life.

It was the last time i truly smiled,
Last time i properly laughed.

Everything so simple rather innocent,
While our other friends were around.

Then came your remarks at the hotel room,
Let my head rule my desires.

Until you suggested hitting the town again,
And i found us alone.

Your arms around me,
You protected me kept me safe.

I was outside my comfort zone,
Yet had never felt safer.

Night went on we stayed out,
Next thing we were cuddling watching the sun rise.

Everything was so beautiful,
Couldn't be put into words.

We got disrupted and moved to elsewhere,
Desire soon took over.

Drew a line stopped before going too far,
Wanted you so bad but was scared.

Nearly a month on still find you on my mind,
Haven't talked to you since.

Today i realize i miss you,
And that i may be in love with you.

Could of had a date but couldn't do it,
For my heart wants you so it would be wrong.

Finally got up courage to email you,
Here i sit and wonder if anything will come of this.

I like how it doesn't have a strict structure but it still seems to flow
i like the lines i was outside my comfort zone yet had never felt safer
i think it describes that first attraction when you're getting to know someone really well
