I held a rose one day

by Mr Rhee   Feb 6, 2010

I held a rose one day.
It's thorns pierced my skin.
The blood was so warm.

The red petals began to fall.
One by one, by one...by one.
All their color, fading.

The rose had only two leaves.
They began to whither.
From deep green to deep brown.

The stem wilted.
And the flower laid over.
It reminded me of a falling tear.

The rose was dying in my hand.
I think my blood was poison.
I think it still is.

I held your hand for the first time.
Your new nails pierced my skin.
The blood was so warm....

Love no matter how beautiful or strong just like a rose will someday die and fade away, but in its place new loves and roses may blossom if given the oppertunity. I loved the part where you said "The rose was dying in my hand. I think my blood was poison.
I think it still is." I think when we lose somebody we love no matter how it happens we always blame ourselves to a certain extent and that part was perfect at describing the pain we all feel. Nice work 5/5 again
