On A Picture Perfect Cake

(Perfect Plastic Couple) On A Picture Perfect Cake.

In my mind once we were,
Stationary statues on the ice white lace,
You wore that black tailored suit,
And clutched me in your embrace.

Your blonde hair was not the typical,
As we watched the wonders pass in life,
My white dress was that of a swinging bell,
But we held still as one man took one wife,

I wondered in silence when that would be us,
It was silence and perfection that struck me hard,
The sponge, the sugar, the sickly sweet,
It was tempting my dreams with little regard.

Your eyes lacked much of anything, no regret
How could we stand here and wait for the day?
When either I would be granted my hopes for us,
Or you would simply fall away.

The wedding past, the icing was sticking,
I could feel your plastic hand start to stiffen,
The whispers were both harsh and cold,
I'm sorry I gave you all I could have given.

This is the moment I pushed you from the top,
My white dress no longer looking so pure,
You had to know how far your could drop,
When I was no longer loyal, soft and secure.

    My favourite stanza ^^

Great imagery and emotion. Love and the heartbreak that goes with it is always a great topic to write about... I think you captured the emotions that go with lost love perfectly.

    Good write!
