Breaking Through

by Soulful Ensemble   Feb 11, 2010

Midnight hours fly by
And I let them go slowly.
I don't clutch to grasp
Any piece of nothing.

Air flows inside me
But my lungs don't move
The ache and crumble
To dust from the moon.

A rainbow in the sky
Beneath the dark stars
Lights the way with candles
But doesn't satisfy.

Happiness I left
In your pretty face
Under your blonde hair
And in your trace.

Happiness belongs to you
When I gave you my heart
And you gave yours, too
But mine is breaking through.

I'm rusting away
In the old metal cage
That you built for me
To trap me forever.

How did you forget me
When we were so close
And our heartbeats pounded
In the same way?
