Split in Half

by Adelaide   Feb 12, 2010

I gaze into the mirror;
sanity begins to disappear.
A single image becomes two;
one is happy; one is blue.
Two people exist as one;
Transforming like the moon and sun,
my eyes are locked in a hypnotic trance;
will my individuality ever stand a chance?
Haunting eyes stare into my soul;
which person will take control?
I close my eyes and forget all;
the mirror falls off the wall.
The two images are shattered on the floor;
now a hundred pieces of me can explore.
