The Darkness (To suit the current Vampiric craze)

by Kristy Schu   Feb 22, 2010

Darkness cools my mind when it burns with hate,
it sheilds me from hateful reality,
it washes over me like water,
the vitality of darkness like oxygen yet deeper still.
i breathe it into myself,
with each breath i am a little farther gone,
darkness; so used and exploited,
hiding secrets,
shrouding death,
hated,
feared,
avoided,
used.
and now loved,
give me peace in your sightless realm,
show me mercy and nothing else.
not pain,
not anguish,
and if not mercy then nothing,
for that is mercy in itself.
this world is over run with sight and sound and touch.
all i want is the sightlessness of the abyss,
to hear nothing but the silence,
i can feel everything drop away,
i can embrace the darkness and therefor my own self
and then i can truly breathe.
