High Hopes

by Wishmaster   Feb 23, 2010

Washed away in my sin
Taken away from my kin
The hopes were high
No thawing heart could deny

The songs were from the heart
So hard to say goodbye and depart
From those dreamy-eyed days so long ago
I now write as if I stood beside that sweet piano

The hopes were high
And now I realize the lie
That nothing now compares to that one time
When there was just me and the rhyme
