Soldier

by Mike   Feb 26, 2010

A soldier's cry silenced through cry's
Others fire crossing over the lines
Running through the enemy's screaming
They know they stepped down in battle alive
Counting the seconds like hours knowing they will die
Through the war zone looking for signs
An answer for why they are here

Sun turns to Moon in an instant it seems
Turning to the sky to see there beliefs beaming
Anything to hide what could hurt just to take a dive
What they were told was it a lie? Could it hurt to try?
Stepping over fallen brothers, we've done it a thousand times
Must keep going, is their anytime to shed a tear?
Kind selflessness falling, aiding true to others silent screaming

Almost their, can we look back?
Pressing forward naturally now there is an attack
So few are left, so many left behind
Only one left, grab their hand get it stuck
It's me and you, we'll get to the end
what is after that? It's dark I cant tell are we going up?
