She Got Him Home

by ChevyCowgirl23   Mar 5, 2010

One door closed with a guy,
a cold hearted one.
And a door opened with one
she thought had a better grip
on that thing called life.
You see he was a soldier
Active in combat, leaving again in just one week
after they finally drew close
That week past quite fast
As they found themselves at the airport
Where he would deport from her arms
and be aback at his temporary home in Iraq.
Crying tears of fear and pain
she took his face in her hands and told him,
"Babe you're coming home"
He looked at her with worry and said
"I'll try my best"
She left him at the terinal that day,
Tryiing to stop the tears
She went to prom that night only wishing
he would call.
Only hoping it was a scary dream.
Months went on, packages were sent.
She missed him more than anything
just wanted him home again.
One fight after another she endured.
the pain he destowed upon her
as they fought with hope.
It was just frustration and not real anger is what she told herself.
As the months progressed the fights got worse and she couldn't take it.
They had many plans,
Ones to get married
have kids.
She couldn't bare to think of ending it
When he wasn't even here.
But she did.
A week before he came home she let him go.
She wasnt going to let him get the best of her once again.
So she ended it, and felt free.
Free form the chains and images
she could not stand to bare.
Shes happy now.
Happy and Free.
