Dueling Desires

by Rhiannon   Mar 13, 2010

You make my heart beat faster with every look
It skips a beat when you touch me
My breathing stops
I gasp for air
I hate you.
My body longs to press against yours
Lips yearning to feel warmth
It's like a hunger deep within me
A craving I can't stop
I loathe you.
Tears warm my cheeks
You walked away a long time ago
No glance back to see me waiting
Waiting on a fleeting emotion I thought was real
I want to hate you.
You tear apart my insides
I don't know what's real anymore
Truth blended into lies
Reality is now deception
I need to hate you.
My heart still waits for that love you used to bring
And the tenderness in every kiss
But with the love there was the sorrow
Unrequited love can cause anyone to hate
And I hate you
Everyone says there's a thin line
And it's impossible not to cross it
You crossed it long ago
And forced me to jump it too
I love you
Every scent reminds me of you
I'll never forget what you brought to my life
Passion, desire, grief, love
A constant reminder of you
I want you
I want your hand in mine
A soft kiss to unveil secret desires
That deep look you used to give me
I'll never forget
I hate you
I love you
I hate you because I love you
The dueling emotions tear me apart
Why can't I just forget?
