Cassidy

by meganmarie   Apr 8, 2010

He got a letter in the mail
stained and wrinkled from the rain
opens the seal and looks inside
a letter from Cassidy puddled in red

She scribbled the words with silent ease
barely distinguishable under the pain
she left him her story, she left her last words
the forgotten tears of a hanging girl

"I'm sorry to tell you," - she silently wrote
"I've come to the end, i can't live this life
I've left you my story, I've left you my end
i want you to read it, i want you to know

Since the day that he raped me i couldn't comply
the world seemed much darker, more hollow and light
The touch of a person no longer the same
i slid into darkness, waiting to die

No one there to catch me
i fell farther everyday
the rumours already flying
it hurt too much to stay"

His tears were slowly forming,
The nausea sinking in

"the world was all in silence
it left me all alone
the screams and tears i cried at night
they fell upon deaf ears

but truth be told i loved you"

at this he sat and paused,
the tears were pouring silently
as he read her final words

"I'm sorry to do this too you
you're the only one who cared
you mean the entire world to me
I'm sorry you're going to hurt

Tonight, it is the end
there's no more time for goodbye
i wish i had told you i loved you
but now it is the end
. I love you
. Cassidy

The world has paused
Her words still sting
Because in the end
He loved her too.
