Sunset

by FindingHarmonyInYurCries   Apr 8, 2010

The sun is setting in the distance,
Embrace the last of it's light.
It's off to the light the rest of the world,
And bless us with the shadows of the night.

However, in the last of it's light,
It too sheds for us some hope.
Lighting the sky with illuminating colours,
So that with the shadows we can cope.

There's nothing quite as eloquent,
As a sunset spilling over the hillside.
The colours shimmering above you,
Reflecting the sparkle in your eye.

The yellow, orange, red and pink,
Symbolising stages of it's descent.
The colours that hold our faith,
And all the hope we represent.

So place a smile upon your lips,
And whisper a short goodbye.
There's no harm in waiting out the dark,
Until the sun can once again light our sky.
