The River

by FindingHarmonyInYurCries   Dec 14, 2010

The black clouds invaded blue,
And overtook my sunny day.
With that came the feeling that,
My pain could be taken away.

A little voice inside my head,
Whispered, 'follow the road now.'
So, no questions asked I left,
And hoped never to be found.

I had my shoulders hunched over,
And my head was hanging down.
I put the headphones in,
And played my music way too loud.

The rain slowly fell around me,
And I let a few tears escape.
Then as I held my head up to the sky,
I forced open rusted floodgates.

People saw no shame in driving on,
Speeding up as they passed my by.
Not one person stopped to see if I was ok,
Noone noticed that i'd cried.

I found a bridge above a raging river,
And let my invisibility guide me through.
And when I leapt from the barriers I thought,
'I would have stopped, if just one person knew.'

.. But that's not an option when noone asks ..
