The Pain Inside

by Chelsea King   Apr 21, 2010

My past is just a shadow that follows me around
Reminding me of the bad times i try so hard to forget
With every memory that comes back, i get more numb
The pain, like a wave, comes rushing in
So many people helped when i was torn
All the things they told me helped me at that second
but the one person i refused to talk to had the power all along
They have the power to make me feel safe
They have the power to release my pain
and most of all they have the power to make me forget.
Talking to them is all i need to do
but my life will become one big maze, one puzzle after the next
So i try to find relief in the ones i have now
Until i get the courage to tall him what he needs to hear.
