The Long Road Home

by Wishmaster   May 13, 2010

With the time passing away
The sun arising to my dismay
The trail goes on into the newborn light
Forever on, out of sight

Walking by the lake
It is hard to stay awake
The journey must continue
Onward into the yonder blue

Haunted by the past, so long ago
Sometimes I wish I never saw that crimson glow
Cruel world, now left behind
Out of heart, out of mind

With the winter home so near
And the path so clear
Finally home to where pain is no more
Peace forever, no more war
