Gone Forever

by Catie   Jun 11, 2010

She was my best friend,
Since about 6th grade,
Neither of us knew,
We'd be alone when it was time to graduate.

As 12th grade came around,
We were so excited to start,
But as the months came and went,
We slowly grew apart.

The school year was almost over,
Four months to go,
We finally got jobs together,
"Our friendship could grow."

The weeks went on,
And things got sour,
She turned into someone new,
We were falling by the hour.

What happened next,
Was the worst ever,
Those dreadful words,
Our friendship is gone forever.

This is a true story..I've chosen to leave out a lot of details..Although this is hard to get through I'm coping with it. I have to start my life now and its a sad thing to know she won't be in it. Yes i have apologized to her for the things i have said..I wish she would have done the same thing...It's not a matter of who started it..but realizing you were both wrong and putting it behind you. Sadly thats not our situation. She will always be considered the greatest best friend I've ever had but its time to get on with my life and move on. But i do have some advice for the rest of you:

Life is too short to hold grudges and harbor bitterness, cherish the people who have been with you and are always with you..Friends are always friends no matter what, every friendship goes through its good and bad phases, but remember that you can make a difference by taking the first step and bridging the gap..

"We always thought we'd look back on our tears and laugh, but we never thought we'd look back on our laughter and cry"
