Fake

by Beth   Jun 17, 2004

You try to be deep, and say things so philosophical.
But your peers are starting to uncover your hidden fact.
You’re regurgitating the thoughts of others, looks like you’re in a pickle.
You try to explain why I’ve heard that anecdote before.
You have to explain how I knew what you were going to say.
I guess it’s hard to be a fake who’s a complete bore.
I’ve given you chances to redeem yourself.
And you’ve tried to do so.
But your revelations are at home on your bookshelf.
