Mummy please stop crying

by marsha marie   Jun 30, 2010

Mummy please stop crying
dry that tear from your eye
please give me a hug because I'm your baby boy

mummy please stop crying
i need you to tell me now
why did daddy leave us
without even saying goodbye

mummy now I'm crying
because i miss my daddy so
Ive got something to give him
and i needed him to know

mummy why are we standing by a stone
i need to see my daddy now
i need to show him that i love him
and that i don't want him to go

mummy please stop crying
why are we still standing here
i need to see my daddy
i need him to be near

mummy turned around to me
and sits me on her knee
baby daddy wont be back now
he needed to be free.....

but mummy please stop crying
i need you to help me see
that daddies never coming back
to kiss and cuddled me

baby please stop crying
he wanted you to know
that he will always love you
and didn't want to go

he will always be in memories
and in your sweeties dream
sometimes being gone is never as it seems xx

OMG, I cannot believe this poem has no comments!

I honestly think this is such a powerful poem, it brought tears to my eyes. I could imagine such a young child being so confused just as you described.

While first reading the poem I thought the father maybe left through a divorce, I could feel my heart sink as the child questioned the head stone!

You have written this so well from the childs point of view, great start and such a strong ending.

    Well done, 5/5 from me.
