I did not see you coming
For you blended with the Sea
Amongst the crashing waters
Tumbling towards me
Building as you traveled
Gaining lots and losing few
On a crash course for my position
But slightly out of view
Closing the distance
I turned to see your curl
About to unleash upon me
And flip-side my whole world
Your fury now unleashed
Tossing me to and fro
Under your surface i scower
Wondering where I'll go
Feeling the sand beneath me
I panic and starve for air
But as quickly as you came
You've vanished and are no longer there
My head surfaces finally
And now i stand once more
Along the white hot sand
That dominates the shore
And now i can appreciate
A tidal wave like you
Lessons learned at the sea
To keep your dangers in view.
