Feathers And Tar

by Rachele   Jul 28, 2010

*This is very personal to me. It's about my sister-in-law who happened to be my best friend, that cheated on my brother.*

Now you're gone
I feel like I was just your pawn
Everything you leave me with is shattered
It seems to me, that to you, I never mattered

You run around calling foul
This whole time you've been on the prowl
Who do you think you are
Leaving me with all these scars...

Your mind games are oh so cleaver
I heard you promise him forever
And today, who are you trying to convince
Me; Or your not-so-secretive prince

You've cut me deeper than anyone before
Brace yourself- 'cause this you can't ignore
I've made my decision
I bet it's not what you've envisioned

Starting now I refuse to play your game
It's time that you start taking the blame
I have no idea how you sleep at night
You're the one who should be feeling contrite

I hate you for what you've done to me
And I still stand here collecting debris
I'm grateful to see who you truly are
You're as lovely to me as feathers and tar
