Summer Rays

by Mr. Darcy   Aug 26, 2010

A whisper, a breath...

...soothing and fresh. Stretch out and reach with searching, yearning finger-tips. Feel how the summer's air sparkles with latent anticipation, silently, eagerly awaiting its guests. Where are the summer rays?

Leaves begin to shiver...

...quiver, ever so slightly, subtly emerald palms support the processional beat - the welcoming, the home-coming chorus. Close your eyes and breathe, inhale and taste the crispness of the air; that unmistakable salty bite, the memories that swirl and twirl like a kite around and around.

The sea has been found, yes - the ocean, a surfer's paradise. Hear how its rhythm builds, its melody longs for song.

Horizontal rays begin to play, they dance and they glimmer, twinkle and shimmer. See how they skim each crest with glee and finesse. Way up high sun-rays fly...

...on snowy feathers they glide...

...glide, glide, surfing this summers song. Forever and together, footprints in the sand, memories of fingers in hands like laces entwined around yours and mine.

Hearts beat and toes meet on a tangerine beach. Blissful days are long, just surfing and song 'till the embers slowly fade with the smiling of summer rays.
