Surgical rest (Double Etheree)

by Mr. Darcy   Mar 6, 2023

Steel
scalpel
slices she,
now see me bleed.
Her razor pain weep
serrates my smothered sleep
with the reek of cauldrons deep.
Excise spun sight of doomed demise
suckled on screams of demonised light -
yet, in my walled mind I remain confined
to daytime terrors that should not be mine.
Return the nerves that weakly beseech
the strip of tease, those lies beneath.
Sheep bites begin, teeth on teeth
scissoring my dreaming
until, day and night
became insane
Suffering
Endless
Cries.

    Mr.Darcy,

First, I like the way your poem formed into a diamond shape..I literally count every syllables.lol..secondly the depth of the content, is like a fine silk weaved by professional hand or should I say, Astonishing...

So cool. I miss writing form poetry. Actually, I think I’ve have spent most of my time reading research about vitamins. I do need a break from that. Thanks for the inspiration

I’ve actually never read a poem like this before but I enjoyed it. Esp the line “yet, in my walled mind I remain confined.” I absolutely loved that piece.

This is an excellent and well written double etheree. I loved the wordplay and the story you told. The rhyming was spot on too! Nominated
