A Dream of the Untouchable...

by RK   Sep 1, 2010

...There I sat atop the mountains
Whispering, it's a beautiful world...
Then peering across the long vast cloud
I witnessed a God
And He asked, what else do you wish?
Said I,
A touch that only
The sacred blessed...
Said He, see son,
You always had vision...
And there was a shadow of someone
A shadow so lovely and familiar
Still I do not know
Why I got so scared
And I ran,
And I ran,
And I ran,
And I ran...
Until stopping by that forbidden valley
And it was full of cherries, and grapes, and apples
But I picked a rose and the serpent hissed -
"Kiss the poison, oh wouldn't you fall now?
Wouldn't you fall?"
"Would that be my fall you whispered"...
Sighed I,
Stung by a thorn that nearly pierced my heart...
And I'm not sure what it was that I heard
But surely a voice sweeter
Than a thousand angelic ballads...
Then comes the shadow again
More visible than before
And I could tell by its skin
It had more colours
Than any God would have ever imagined
And what do I hold?
Only a mere mortal am I
Of dust and clay
With less of shades to offer
Only black...
Building shapeless sketches
In a world out of my mind
Ready to explore in purity
I fill her death inside...

Then spiders roam my dream,
Their nets within my skull...
And I wake up
In the cold of my pillow
Full of sweat and fear...
